A truck subwoofer will give your in cab stereo system that extra depth and is the first step to great all around sound.  As you'll know some music is created specifically for bass and is commonly known as a bass track. Subwoofers are designed to create a bass sound that you can physically feel, if you are standing there right next to it or even at a distance away, they are used to magnify and amplify the heavy bass sounds and therefore if bass sound is your thing and you want to crank it up a notch you'll want the biggest subwoofer for the biggest sound.

Common sizes are 8-inch, 10-inch, 12-inch and 15-inch but of course they can go even bigger but for your cab best to stay within this range. The larger the subwoofer, the lower the frequency it will produce.

As a rule the more power they can handle the more sound they are capable of producing, but also the more expensive they will be. Before you buy consider your maximum wattage RMS. Max wattage RMS is how much power the subwoofer can handle.

Subwoofers need to be contained in boxes or enclosures which not only enable fast and easy fitting but also prevent excessive amounts of vibration. Often amplifiers are already inbuilt within the boxes/enclosures. The amplifier is of course necessary to power up the subwoofer. The new style truck subwoofer enclosures or truck subwoofer boxes will provide a completely professional appearance for your truck cab when fitted and of course they can take up some of that wasted dead cab space. Truck Subwoofer enclosures will mean minimal weight gain to your truck, prevent excessive vibration within the sub and create a loud, deep and even sounding system. You'll get the best sound possible from your sub and amp.

Cones and surrounds affect not only the quality of the sound the subwoofer will produce, but how long the subwoofer will last. Rubber surrounds are the best. The cone material will of course need to be of a quality that can withstand the pressure levels the speaker is capable of generating. Current technology can now provide more substantial cone materials like Polypropylene, Carbon and Polymer Laminates that can protect their shape under pressure, resist moisture, and they are very light too.

Of course more often the subwoofer is would normally be placed inside the trunk however, with modern newer systems they can be placed just about anywhere inside the cab of your truck and so you'll enjoy it even more.

If you want the best around sound despite all that outside noise when the windows are down check out the latest truck subwoofers and truck subwoofer enclosures, they can even increase your trade in value too.
